Healthcare faux leather

By combining a polyester base and a top polyurethane layer, this medical synthetic leather acquires excellent functional properties. The material is extremely strong and durable, which makes it ideal for the production of equipment for demanding hospital operations as well as home care. It is completely impermeable and reliably protects mattress cores or padding against contamination and liquids.

The material is fully tailored for modern processing technologies—alongside classic sewing, it can also be joined using high-frequency or ultrasonic welding. Welded seams ensure 100% impermeability, making it a perfect choice for products intended for the most demanding environments, such as operating rooms or ICU departments. The medical synthetic leather has undergone strict laboratory testing. It is thermally highly resistant—finished products can be washed at up to 95 °C.

The surface of the material has a flame-retardant finish compliant with the strict CRIB 5 standard and has antibacterial properties. The material features excellent chemical resistance and can be disinfected with common types of hospital disinfectants, including alcohol-based solutions. It meets all standards necessary for healthcare use and is supplied with all required certificates. It is suitable for both sewing and welding medical covers (e.g. with zip flaps), examination couches, positioning aids, and other healthcare upholstery.
